Your wedding cake is an important (and yummy) part of your wedding so it’s a good idea to make sure you select a trustworthy and talented cake designer! Some questions you may want to ask are……
1. How long have you making wedding cakes?
2. Are they your specialty?
3. Is there a particular flavor or style that you specialize in?
4. Can I request different flavors for each layer? Is there an extra charge for that?
5. What are the total fees, delivery fees, set up fees, serving fees?
6. How much is the deposit and when is it due? And when is the final balance due?
7. How far in advance do I need to order my cake?
8. Can I order extra sheet cakes? If so, what’s the cost?
And of course be sure to get a written contract and receipt for any deposit to be sure you are both on the same page for total cost involved, wedding date, ect. Don’t forget to ask about cake toppers, who will serve the cake or serving untensils either.
